Scholarships are a great way to help cover your educational expenses. Texas State offers incoming transfer students two categories of scholarships: Assured and Competitive. You can stack scholarships and combine them with financial aid up to the cost of attendance.

Assured Transfer Scholarships
-
General Criteria and Overview
Transfer assured scholarships are awarded based on a student’s academic credentials. The scholarships are guaranteed to all qualified residents and nonresidents (including international students) provided they are admitted to Texas State as a first-time transfer to the university and meet the scholarship qualifications prior to the start of their first semester.
It applies to new, first-time transfers from both community colleges and 4-year colleges and universities. Awards will be for the fall and spring semesters. The Financial Aid and Scholarships office will award admitted transfers who meet the requirements. The scholarship can be renewed for a second year (or four continuous semesters) with a 3.0 cumulative Texas State GPA and 24 earned hours in the previous year.
Students enrolled in an online degree program are not eligible to receive institutional scholarships (National, Assured, Merit or competitive departmental and college scholarships).
Any scholarship or combination of scholarships awarded by Texas State cannot exceed the cost of attendance.
If you have become ineligible to receive your scholarship due to your not meeting the renewal requirements, you can file an appeal. The appeal must demonstrate a documented extenuating circumstance that you experienced and led to your not meeting the renewal criteria. Appeal instructions will be emailed to students after spring grades post in May.
