Dropping a class means removing one or more courses from your schedule while you remain enrolled in at least one other course.

  • You can drop only during the dates listed in the academic calendar for each term.
  • If you drop a class before the Census Date, it will not appear on your transcript.
  • It is your responsibility to complete the drop by the posted deadline.

1) Log in to Texas State Self-Service

To drop a class, first log in to the Registration Portal in Texas State Self-Service.

2) Registration Menu

Click on ‘Register or Change Schedule’

3) Select Term

Select a term from the drop-down and click ‘Continue’

4) Drop Reason

Using the ‘Action’ drop-down menu, select a drop reason for the class you’d like to drop and click ‘Submit’

5) Successful Drop

Watch for the success message and confirm the class status has been changed to ‘Dropped’ or ‘Deleted’

Dropping Last Class is Not Allowed

You can drop one or more classes on your schedule as long as you remain registered in at least one credit hour course
